Raymond T. Betler
Vice President, Westinghouse Airbrake Technologies.
Ray Betler is Vice President of Westinghouse Air Brake Technologies. Prior to Wabtec, Ray was President of Bombardier, Total Transit Systems, and President, London Underground Projects. Ray holds the distinction of being the youngest president and CEO of the former Westinghouse Corporation. Ray and his wife, Joneen, have three sons and one grandson. Ray is Chairman for the Carnegie Science Center and serves on other civic boards.
He has devoted years of service as a Board member to Family Guidance, the Greater Pittsburgh Community Leaders Prayer Breakfast, and his local church.
Ray is a graduate of The Leaders Collaborative.
Larry Black
Director, Diebold Corporation
Larry Black has been employed at the Diebold Corporation since 1984, holding positions as an account executive, sales director and now as the senior director of security solutions. He’s currently responsible for leading all security initiatives for the U.S. sales team, the integrated services for security initiative across the country and a team of business development managers to develop and increase security competence for the entire U.S. sales team.
He serves on the boards of the Pittsburgh Leadership Foundation, the YMCA and NexTier Armored Company.
Mr. Black graduated with a B.S. in marketing from the University of Evansville and from Geneva College MSOL.
Kirk Botula
COO, Confluence
Kirk Botula is responsible for Confluence’s global product direction and company operations. Since joining the company in 1995, Botula has been responsible for creating a culture of product innovation, operational excellence and client service at Confluence.
Prior to joining Confluence, Botula served in a variety of roles at BNY Mellon. Botula has served on advisory boards of the Pittsburgh Leadership Foundation, Product Strategy Network, Pittsburgh Technology Council, KidsVoice, Eden Christian Academy and the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh.
Botula holds a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and a master’s degree in business administration from Carnegie Mellon University.
Rebecca Chapman
Founder and Director, The Pittsburgh Fellows Program
Becca Chapman is Founder and Director of The Pittsburgh Fellows program, a nine-month
(September - May) post-graduate, leadership development program designed to introduce bright, industrious young Christian men and women to the business world in Pittsburgh. The goal of the program is to form future leaders who have fully integrated their faith with their corporate calling. Becca founded this program as a ministry partner with St. Stephen’s Church in Sewickley where her husband, Geoff, serves as Rector. They have six children.

Certified Public Accountant, Terry Collier, founded Terry Collier & Associates in 1989. As a practice, Terry Collier & Associates, P.C. serves the non-profit community, providing accounting, auditing, and informational returns & tax compliance services. In addition, the Firm serves the for-profit community and individuals, providing accounting, consulting, and tax preparation services. The Firm is committed to providing a portal where men and women of all ethnic groups and nationalities can enter their profession.
As a strong believer in developing ties between community and business Terry serves as the Treasurer of Serving Leaders Board of Directors, is a board member of The Early Learning Institute, and serves as a deacon at Bethany Baptist Church in Homewood. Also, the Firm is a member of the African American Chamber and of the Pennsylvania and American Institutes of Certified Accountants. Due to all his hard work, in 2008, Terry was the recipient of the 2008 Man of Excellence award, sponsored by the New Pittsburgh Courier.
Terry earned a Bachelor of Science from Ohio State University in industrial engineering, and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh with an emphasis in Accounting. Terry and his wife, Barbara, have been married thirty-seven years, and have two sons, Terry III and John Baxter, and are doting grandparents to their first grandchild, Sarah, daughter of Terry III and his wife Tiowa.
Sam Deep

Adjunct Professor, Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University
Sam Deep launched his leadership development career in 1986, after 15 years of teaching and administration at the University of Pittsburgh. Since then, he has worked with or spoken in front of over 150,000 people, his 15 internationally published books have sold well over one million copies in fourteen languages, and his last four audio tapes were featured on USAir’s EntertainAir.
His current consulting services include executive coaching, leadership development, team building, and strategic planning.
Mr. Deep was an adjunct professor of leadership and strategy at the Graduate School of Industrial Administration of Carnegie Mellon University from 1998 to 2006. He also hosted “Following the Leader,” a weekly radio program on KQV in Pittsburgh that focused on building better corporate leaders for eight years.
Darrin Grove
Principal, Truefit Solutions
Board Chair
Darrin Grove founded TrueFit Solutions in February of 1997 and has over 15 years of experience in the software and business application industry.
A board member of Imani Christian Academy of Pittsburgh, he spearheaded the creation of an Entrepreneurial Program at that school.
Mr. Grove is a CEO of the Year Finalist for the Pittsburgh TECH-50, a recipient of the Fast Tracker award sponsored by the Pittsburgh Business Times, and a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
Darrin and his wife, Chris, have been married seventeen years, and have three sons.
Leon E. Haynes, III
Executive Director, Hosanna House, Inc.
Leon E. Haynes, III is executive director of Hosanna House, Inc., and has ten years experience working with Fortune 500 companies in the areas of engineering and marketing.
He has worked with local boards such as the Boys and Girls Club, Lifecare Hospital-Wilkinsburg, the University of Pittsburgh Office of Child Development and the Family Support Policy Board.
From being chosen to represent U.S. communities at the Sun Valley National Health Forum in 1994, to being appointed by Governor Ed Rendell to the Governor’s Cabinet on Children and Families in 2004, his commitment to improving the lives of others has been recognized by numerous foundations and governmental bodies. In 2002, Mr. Haynes was ordained as a Pastor of Covenant Church in Pittsburgh.
He has spent the last six years traveling throughout South Africa facilitating workshops on community building, leadership development and maximizing resources. Currently Mr. Haynes is mentoring organizations from two different countries, Zimbabwe and Botswana.
A native of Virginia, he earned a B.S. Degree in Industrial Technology at North Carolina A&T State University. Mr. Haynes, his wife Annita, and their three children reside in Observatory Hill, PA.
Kevin Jordan
Chaplain, The Pittsburgh Steelers
Kevin Jordan is Chaplain of the Pittsburgh Steelers, serving along with his wife Jenny as full-time missionaries with Athletes in Action, the non-profit sports ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ International. Before Kevin joined Athletes in Action, he was a professional football player with the Arizona Cardinals and the Denver Broncos. Kevin spent 10 years as the football chaplain for UCLA after a stellar career with the Bruins in which he set school marks in total receptions and receiving yards.
Kevin and his wife, Jenny, an Olympian and Silver Medalist World Beach Volley Champion, have two children.
Laura Penrod Kronk

Community Volunteer
Laura Penrod Kronk is a graduate of Lehigh University with a B.S. degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering.
She is currently on the Board of Directors of Ladies Hospital Aid Society, Pittsburgh Leadership Foundation, Saltworks Theatre Company, City Theatre, Gilda’s Club, Jewish Healthcare Foundation, Pittsburgh Opera, Urban Impact Foundation, Pittsburgh Kids Foundation and Pittsburgh Emergency Medicine Foundation. She has chaired numerous benefits for non-profit organizations.
Previously, she was a member of the Board of Trustees at Lehigh University and the President of the Lehigh Club of Pittsburgh.
Robert M. Lavelle

The Honorable Patricia A. McCullough
Patricia McCullough is a Pittsburgh attorney with over 25 years of experience in private and corporate practice, including serving as a Judge in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas when she was appointed by the Governor and State Senate to fill a vacancy in 2005. She was also the Executive Director of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, covering a six county-wide area and was instrumental in implementing the agency's Health Care Center for the uninsured working poor. Patricia was also the Assistant General Counsel for the University of Pittsburgh for nine years; a member of the NCAA Career Counseling Panel, an adjunct faculty member, a member and chair of the Allegheny County Board of Property Assessment Appeals and Review for four years, and has been engaged in private practice.
She earned her B.A. degree from the University of Pittsburgh and her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Patricia also attended the University of Strasbourg in France during the summer of 1980 to study International Law and Human Rights as well as Christianity and the Law.
Patricia has been a local and state committeewoman and a longtime supporter of charitable and faith-based organizations. She currently serves on the leadership team of Women Without Walls, the advisory board of Storehouse for Teachers and is a co-leader/instructor for the women's H.O.P.E. program of the Allegheny County Prison, as sponsored by Christian Associates of PA. She also serves as a consultant for non-profit organizations and as a speaker for schools, faith-based and non-profit events.
Kimberly Merrell
Kimberly Merrell is a Family Counselor at Light of Life Rescue Mission, and Founding Executive Director of LiVE, International, a Christian ministry addressing violence against women.
Kimberly holds degrees from Ohio State University and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary where she serves as a Trustee.
Kimberly and her husband, Alton, an internationally acclaimed Jazz pianist and music director for Covenant Church of Pittsburgh, are the parents of one son. Kimberly is a graduate of The Leaders Collaborative.
John Stahl-Wert
President, Serving Leaders
Dr. John Stahl-Wert serves as the President and CEO of Serving Leaders and Pittsburgh Leadership Foundation. During John’s tenure, he has helped leaders co-create many new initiatives, including Storehouse for Teachers, Pittsburgh Urban Leadership Service Experience, Amachi Pittsburgh, The Union Project, Pittsburgh Servant Leaders, and The Leaders Collaborative.
John has written three highly praised books addressing the subjects of exercising great leadership and living meaningful and loving lives. The Serving Leader: 5 Powerful Actions That Will Transform Your Team, Your Business, and Your Community (San Francisco: Berrett-Koehler Publishers, 2003), co-authored with Ken Jennings, is an international best-seller, translated into eight languages. Ten Thousand Horses: How Leaders Harness Raw Potential for Extraordinary Results (San Francisco: Berrett-Koehler Publishers, 2007) co-authored with Ken Jennings, has been translated into four languages. With: A True Story (Pittsburgh: Steelworth Press, 2008), John's newest release, has garnered highest praise from theologians and business executives alike. John writes a monthly column on the subject of "Leadership and Integrity" for China's Business Management Review, published in Beijing.
John is a member of the National Speakers Association and provides highly-rated keynote addresses on the subjects of leadership, integrity, worker engagement, and cultural transformation.
Terry Timm
Lead Pastor, Christ Community Church of the South Hills
Terry has twenty-five years of local church ministry experience and currently serves as Lead Pastor of Christ Community Church, a missional community of faith located in the south hills of Pittsburgh. His educational background includes degrees from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, and Northern Theological Seminary. He also has a background in the music, education, theology, and leadership fields. These experiences fuel his passion to help people become everything God intended, created, redeemed, and gifted them to be. Terry serves as a board member for Serving Leaders/Pittsburgh Leadership Foundation, is co-facilitator of the Pittsburgh Missional Cohort and addresses the topic of sexuality with students in local schools as a member of the speakers’ team of the Pregnancy Resource Center of the South Hills.
